Help! Help! I can't get on my Twitter! I'm gonna die!!!
With all of these sites and all of the ways you can get on them and use them, it is becoming more and more obvious that all of the younger kids are getting obsessed with updating their own status and letting the world know what they are doing and what is on their mind and they are also obsessed with looking at everyone else's status and seeing what they are doing. On average, a teenager gets on these sites AT LEAST once a day, sometimes more, sometimes they can stay on these sites ALL DAY. They can know what their favorite celebrity is doing, what their friends are up to, etc. But these sites can be viewed and used not only on their computers-now the amazing technology that cell phones have can help feed these addictions even more. Either with their mobile web, or with the new smart phones and the apps, a teenager can view their friends and update their pages whenever they want.
The problems that come up with these sites are the fact that we no longer have privacy. Stalking can become a whole lot easier, and the internet has become a portal for creeps and pervs to find the innocent and do wrong things. Our identities can even be stolen due to having too much put onto these websites. Also, privacy and having time alone, absolutely alone, is a very healthy thing that everyone should have every so often, preferably once a day. To sit or lay down and spend time with only themselves and their mind. Now, you can't even rest and close your eyes and just let your mind wander before you go to sleep, most people are now 'tweeting' all of their thoughts while laying in bed for the world wide web to view and comment on it.
Most teenagers would go crazy if they were not allowed to have some type of access to their social networking sites. It is becoming ridiculous and dangerous.

ashatt - I don't think it's just the teens though, it's the adults too! Recently I saw a news story about moms addicted to social networking. I think a lot of stay at home moms get lonely esp. for adult conversation and this is a great or not so great (depends on how you look at it) way of staying connected. BTW - welcome to HubPages!
